This article describes the standard and optional laser heads (lens tubes) available for the TITAN and TITAN Pro series machines.
It also explains how focus settings differ between single-source and dual-source systems, and summarizes the replacement concept for the laser head or lens tubes/barrels.
The TITAN machines support 4 lens tube options:
Across all four lens tubes, the nozzle-to-material distance is designed to be consistent (about 5mm). As a result, autofocus works with all four lens tube options.
The focal distance value input for Titan autofocus is about 3 mm; minor variations between devices are normal, and the standard focal distance value is tested and preset on the machine before shipping.
TITAN Pro machines are currently supplied with a standard 3-inch dual-wavelength laser head designed for both CO2 and fiber laser sources.
Because CO2 and fiber beams have different effective focal positions, the DSP controller requires two separate Focus Depth values (Laser 1 and Laser 2):
· Laser 1 (CO2 RF): approximately 5.5 mm
· Laser 2 (Fiber): approximately 0.5 mm
These values are pre-configured before shipment and may vary slightly from machine to machine.
When processing a file that contains both CO2 and fiber layers, the system uses the CO2 RF focus as the reference for autofocus, and it will automatically compensate for the bed height when switching to fiber layers. This ensures accurate focusing for both laser sources without manual intervention during the job.
Typical nozzle-to-material distances during a dual-laser job:
· CO2 RF (Laser 1): approximately 8 mm
· Fiber (Laser 2): approximately 3 mm
TITAN Pro machines can also accept single-source (CO2 or fiber) lens barrels and lenses; however, autofocus is only supported when operating with the correct laser source.
If you install Titan-series CO2 lens barrels and lenses on a TITAN Pro machine, you must re-verify the optimal focal distance for the new head and then update the corresponding Focus Depth value in your software (RDWorks, LightBurn, or LaserMaker, depending on your workflow and controller support) if it does not exist yet (Titan Pro machines shipped before late December 2025 did not include the tested CO2 ); if your machine has already input the single CO2 focal distance value, before using please switch to the correct lens (barrel) from touch panel: Lens Change Feature.
For instructions on determining the optimal focal distance for a lens and barrel combination, refer to the Thunder Knowledge Base article for focus testing:

The laser head uses a precision slot design for positioning rings. This provides repeatable installation alignment for reliable focusing and camera-assisted workflows.
Soft silicone rings can be removed quickly when required. After removing the rings, up to four different FL barrels can be installed at higher mounting positions, which helps accommodate thicker materials when using the pass-through door.
For step-by-step replacement instructions, refer to the official replacement procedure in the Thunder Knowledge Base:
