Connecting A Thunder Laser To Laser Maker Via USB and Ethernet

Preface

This guide explains how to connect your Thunder Laser machine to the Laser Maker software using a USB or Ethernet cable.

Notes
This guide is specifically for the Bolt and Nova series software communication setup.
If your machine is from the TITAN series, please refer to this article instead.
TITAN Connection Method

1. Preparation

  1. USB cable
  2. Ethernet cable
  3. Computer

2. Connection method

USB connection(Nova & Nova Plus Series, Bolt Series)

Ethernet connection(Nova & Nova Plus Series, Bolt Series)

         
     

Method 1: USB Connection

  • Physical Connection: Connect your computer to the machine using the USB cable.
  • Check Port: Open Windows Device Manager and locate the assigned USB COM port.


  • Configure the software
      In LaserMaker:

Step 1: Click the "Switch" to enter the "Device Manager" interface.

Step 2: Click the "Create" to create the device.

Step 3: Select the device brand and device series

Step 4: Select the correct COM port.

Step 5: Enter the device name

Step 6: Click "Finished" to complete the creation of the device.


  • Connection Successful: The bottom right corner of the software will now display "Connected", indicating successful communication.


Method 2: Ethernet Connection

  • Physical Connection: Connect your computer to the machine using the Ethernet cable.
  • Network Setup: Go to Windows Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center (to configure your PC's IP address to match the machine's network segment).


  • Machine IP Configuration

Nova & Nova Plus Series
(Click the Menu > IP config+ )

Bolt Series
(Click the Menu > Internet)


  • Configure the software

In Laser Maker:

Step 1: Click the "Switch" to enter the "Device Manager" interface.

Step 2: Click the "Create" to create the device.

Step 3: Select the device brand and device series

Step 4: Enter the TCP/IP address of the device, and click "Test" to check whether the IP address exists.

Step 5: Enter the device name

Step 6: Click "Finished" to complete the creation of the device.


  • Connection Successful: The bottom right corner of the software will now display "Connected", indicating successful communication.
