The RF tube won't fire the beam even the laser switch is on.
1. The temperature of RF tube is too high.
If the temperature of RF tube is too high, RF tubes won't emit beam.
Solution:
Please off the machine and wait 4-5 minutes, then try again.
2. The laser beam path was out of aligned.
If the laser beam path is out of aligned, the beam cannot comes out from laser head.
Solution:
Paste a piece of tape on the first mirror, then press 'Pulse' button of LCD panel.
If you can see a laser dot on tape, it means you need to check and adjust the laser beam path.
If nothing with the tape, go next steps.
3. The signal channel of controller board problem
If the controller CN5 port is damaged, it can be solved by replacing the port.
Solution:
Open the right door of the machine >> Find the controller board >> Find CN5 port >> Unplug CN5 port >> Transfer CN5 port into CN6 port
Note: And also need to change the laser channel in software:
How to change the laser channel in softwares:
RDWorks:
Go vendor setting and enter password 'rd8888' >> click 'Read'>> Find 'Laser' port >> Unselect channel 1 >> Change the setting of channel 2 according to channel 1 >> Click 'Write'.
And in layer parameter, please select chanel 2 instead of chanel 1.
Lightburn:
Click Edit >> Machine settings >> Read >> Laser >> False Laser1 and Ture Laser 2 >> Change the Laser 2 frequency to 25000>> click 'Write'.
If the RF tube still not emit beam, go next step please.
4. RF power supply problem
Please open the RF tube cover, and check if the green light of 48V power supply is on.
If yes, measure the voltage output.
If not, measure the voltage input and output.
Measure the L7 and N8 wire, see if it has 220V/110V input.
Measure voltage of 'V-' and 'V+', see if it has 48V voltage output.
5. The signal problem
(1). The signal wire is loose.
Solution:
Please open the RF tube cover, unplug the signal interface ( the gray wire) and then plug it back.
If all wires are tight, go next step.
(2). The signal wire or RF tube broken
Solution:
Unplug the signal connector, you can see 8 wires inside it.
Open the wires cover and find the signal wire (gray wire), you can see two wires(1 and 8) only. Other 6 wires inside the wires cover.
Note: This picture is for refence, you can see the wire 1 is connect to the PWM1, wire 8 is connect to GND.
At this time, short-connect 1.3.7 wires together, please make sure they are connected well. We have a video for reference.
How to connect the cables 1, 3, 7 together.
After you short 1, 3, 7, you don't need to connect them to the input board, just connect 8 (GND) to the controller.
Note: Before you turn on the machine, please down the honeycomb table first and put a wood on it. Because maybe the RF tube will keep fires after you turning on the machine.
Judgments based
1 ). If RF tube cannot fire after turning on the machine, maybe the problem is the signal wires or RF tube.
Please replace a signal wire with a new one. (The signal wire is an Ethernet cable, it’s easy to find locally.)
If still no fires, maybe the problem is RF tube. Please contact us:tech@thunderlaser.com.
2 ). If RF tube fires after turning on the machine, the problem is signal wire.
How to test after re-connect the signal wire.
Requirement: After short-circuited 1, 3, and 7, it is no need to connect it to the PWM port of the controller.
How to connect the cables 1, 3, 7 together.
Please replace a signal wire with a new one.
Note: How to connect the wires after you replace a new one, below picture is for reference.
