Pneumatic Clamp Operation and Gas Supply System Overview

Pneumatic Clamp Operation and Gas Supply System Overview

1. Operating the Pneumatic Clamps

Before loading the material, make sure the pneumatic clamps are released.

1.  Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to unlock the clamp assembly.

2.  Move one clamp to the required position, and turn its handwheel clockwise to lock it on the guide rail.

3.  Position the material, then move the other clamp against the material and lock it in place using the handwheel.

4.  Press K1 on the remote control to clamp the material. Press K1 again to release it.

5.  Before processing, confirm that both clamps are fully engaged and the material cannot move.

6.  After processing, release the clamps, unlock one clamp assembly, move it away from the material, and remove the workpiece.

Keep your hands clear of the clamping area. Do not loosen the handwheels while the pneumatic clamps are applying force.

2. Pneumatic Clamp Air Supply

The pneumatic clamps are normally powered by compressed air supplied through the Air/N₂ inlet circuit. Use the pressure regulator(Gas Flow Control Valve) to set the clamp supply pressure to approximately 0.3–0.4 MPa.

Excessive pressure may damage components or deform thin materials. Insufficient pressure may result in inadequate clamping force.

The clamps still require gas supply when oxygen is used for cutting. Therefore, if the pnumatic clamp function is needed, the air compressor or nitrogen gas must remain connected during oxygen cutting.

3. Assist-Gas System Overview

Compressed air and nitrogen share the Air/N₂ inlet, while oxygen uses a separate O₂ inlet. Each gas branch has its own pressure-monitoring device and solenoid valve. The branches join before the digital pressure gauge and laser cutting head.

Only one cutting-gas branch may be activated at a time. After you choose either of the oxygen or N₂/Air from the software, the system prevents reverse flow of the other gas circuit.

The oxygen circuit also includes:

●  An oxygen-service filter regulator for pressure adjustment and water filtration.

●  A proportional pressure regulator that controls the oxygen pressure according to the value set for each layer in the software.

The Air/N₂ inlet pressure and gas quality must be controlled by the external supply equipment. When using compressed air, install an appropriately sized water separator and any required filters or air dryer.

All oxygen-circuit components must be suitable for oxygen service and kept free of oil, grease, and combustible contamination.
