How to replace the autofocus board in an Aurora?

Preface

This document covers step-by-step instructions for replacing the Autofocal Board on Aurora machines with auto doors. The updated firmware on the new board resolves auto-door coordination issues. Always photograph wiring before removing connectors to prevent misconnection.

Specific steps

1. Read & Confirm Focal Length Parameters

Since the focal length of each machine is different, it is necessary to record and save it before replacing the Autofocus Board.

1.1. Machine and computer communication established.

Step1: Turn on the machine.	Step 2: Connect the machine and computer using a USB cable.

1.2. Check which COM you need to use.

Open up Windows Device Manager and look for a CH340 device under the Ports (COM & LPT) section. In our example, COM11 is used as the COM‑port for the AURORA device connection.

1.3. Connect to the TLTool software to read the current focal length.

Step1: Find the TLTool software.	Step 2: Connect to the TLTool software.
You can find the TLTool in the U-disk that came with the machine. Software path：U-disk came with machine>>AURORA 8/AURORA 8 UV/AURORA 8 PRO >> Auto focal software	Set the COM and click the 'Connect' button.
Step3: Press the autofocus button on the machine.	Step 4: Read and record the current focal length value in the TLTool software.

If you did not modify the autofocus value before, you may refer directly to the autofocus value screenshot provided on the U disk and skip this step.

Step1: Find the focal length values on the U disk.

Step 2: Find and record the focal Length.

File Path: U-disk that came with the machine>>AURORA 8/AURORA 8 UV/AURORA 8 PRO >> Fiber software/UV software >> Recommended focal length

According to the text above the field lens, select the corresponding parameter.

1.4. Turn off the machine.

2. Disassemble

2.1. Locate the Autofocal Board.

Step1: Open the top cover of the machine.	Step 2: Find the Autofocal Board.
	Note: Take clear photos to record the connection position of each cable to avoid incorrect wiring.

2.2. Carefully disconnect all wiring attached to the board one by one.

2.3. Remove the screws securing the old Autofocal Board.

Step1: Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four mounting screws securing the board.

Step 2: Take out the old board.

3. Replace

3.1. Install the new Autofocal Board.

Step1: Align the new Autofocal Board preloaded with the latest firmware onto the four brass standoffs.

Step 2: Secure and tighten the mounting screws.

3.2. Reconnect all wiring according to the photos.

Reconnect all connectors one-to-one strictly in accordance with the previously taken photos. Ensure all plugs are fully seated, tight, free of looseness and misalignment.

3.3. Close the top cover of the machine.

4. Write Focal Length Parameters to the new Autofocus Board

4.1. Machine and computer communication established.

Step1: Turn on the machine.	Step 2: Connect the machine and computer using a USB cable.

4.2. Connect to the TLTool software to write the focal length.

Step 1: Connect to the TLTool software.	Step 2: Write the focal length.
Set the COM and click the 'Connect' button.	Write the focal length value you just recorded into the TLTool software.
Step3: Press the autofocal button on the machine.	Step 4: Verify that the focal length value has been written.
	Check whether the Actual focal value is consistent with the focal length value to confirm successful writing. Note: Complete equality is not required, minor discrepancies are acceptable. This confirms successful writing of the focal length parameter.
