How to check the quality of the CO2 glass tube by light cone

Testing Tools

  1. 15*15*15mm Acrylic.
  2. Measurement tools ,tape measure, ruler and so on.
  3. Double-sided adhesive.
 
Info
Since 2023-04-08, the toolbox comes with the machine will be equipped with 2×15mm acrylic blocks.


Test Method

1. Confirm the power you need to set. Find a power that the current is 7mA. 
Here is a data for reference.  

Locate Power Supply for your machine
Nova 35, 51, and 63
Located on the back of the machine, behind the blue door to the left of the exhaust outlet.

Nova 24:
Located on the left side of your machine behind the lower blue door.



2. Set a max power through the panel,  Z/U button>>MaxPower(Take C100 for example), set the maxpower 1 at 26% and pulse. 
    If the current is 7 mA, then set the max power at 26%.  If not, keep testing.  



3. Moving the laser head to this coordinate point (X0, Y160).
 

4. Open the upper left side door
 

5. As shown, use double-sided tape to secure the 15 mm acrylic block in this position. 
Please make sure the red beam in the center of the acrylic block.
 
 

6. Closing all doors and keep pressing the "Pulse" button.  Pulsing time, 60W  is 12s, 80w-130w is 9s.  

Idea
If conditions allow, use a fan to prevent the acrylic from catching fire.


7. Here is the result. 


Measurement the light cone

1. Measure light cone diameter.


2. Measure light cone depth.


3. Check the light cone shape.
