Defocus Processing for Thunder Bolt

Defocus Processing for Thunder Bolt

Preface:

The Defocusing Function of the laser allows users to adjust the energy density of the laser beam to optimize cutting and engraving effects, reduce the heat-affected zone, improve edge quality, and adapt to the processing needs of different materials.

Detail Step:

1. Place the Material

Place the material under the laser head.

2. Focus the Material

Press the AF button to complete the autofocus.

After the focusing, we can observe the Z coordinates have been updated.

3. Reset the X/Y Axis

Press the Reset button to reset the machine.

Note: Before resetting the axis, click the Origin button to ensure the laser head moves to the correct position after the reset.

After the resetting, we can observe the Z coordinates have been updated to 3000.

4. Set the Nudge

Set the value of the nudge that we want to defocus.

Nudge: Set the travel distance when moving each axis manually.

Before we setting, press to unlock the touch panel.

5. Defocus the Material

Adjust the honeycomb table up or down by pressing the Z button, now we can defocus the material.

Note:

After not using this function, click the AF button again to autofocus the material.

Warning:
Pressing the Z-axis button will move the honeycomb table according to the Nudge value. Ensure this value is set appropriately to prevent any damage from the autofocus probe contacting the material surface during engraving or cutting.

How to restore the normal focal length:

Using the AF button to refocus once.
